What should you expect to experience when visiting Concordia?
You should expect to be greeted by friendly people who are glad to have you with us — for one Sunday or for a lifetime. You are welcome to join us not only in the Church service, but in both our children's and adult religious study which is available during the hour between early and late service, see our worship schedule for specific times. You are also welcome to participate, in whatever capacity you are comfortable, in our fellowship activities.
Our worship follows a structured, Liturgical form called a 'Divine Service Setting' which includes recited prayer, scripture readings, a relevant lesson (sermon), singing hymns, offering of gifts to God, and during specified services, Holy Communion. Those who share our closely held beliefs are welcome to share in Holy Communion. Please speak to the pastor before service if you would like to receive Holy Communion.
While service at our church is a reverent occasion to gather in communal worship, we encourage families to worship with their children. We also offer nursery facilities for small children who may have more energy than can be contained for the duration of the service. Our nursery is staffed during the later of our two Sunday services and is available for parental supervision of your own children during the early service. If you would like to use it, please ask an usher for assistance.
We worship the Triune God, a single God consisting of 3 persons: The Father, Son (Jesus Christ), and Holy Spirit. We believe that Jesus Christ, true God, became man and died as the perfect sacrifice for the sins of all humanity. We believe that our salvation is dependent on the free gift of grace offered by Jesus to all who repent of their sins and believe in His promise of forgiveness.
